CBD and Anxiety

Anxiety is something that everybody feels from time to time. But there are times when the feeling becomes intense and it starts affecting a person's life in general. When this happens, a person needs to seek psychological and medical help to treat his or her chronic anxiety. There are different kinds of anxiety disorders. Generalized anxiety disorder or GAD is when the person worries about certain or different things for a minimum of six months.

Social anxiety disorder is when someone has a fear of being humiliated or judged by others so he or she usually keeps a distance from other people. PTSD or Post-traumatic stress disorder is when a person experienced or just witnessed something that gives him trauma. Another anxiety disorder is Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). This is when a person has rituals that he or she does repeatedly, for example, counting, checking something or hand washing. Phobia and panic attacks are also under anxiety disorders. When a person has chronic anxiety disorders he or she would sometimes be afraid of leaving the house or doing certain things. A person would have changes in his or her personality and would have trouble keeping relationships with family and friends.

A patient might also have problems on the job or in school and would turn to alcohol and drugs. Dire cases would even resort to suicidal acts or harming others. During an anxiety attack, the person might have troubles breathing, feel pain on the chest, tremble, sweat excessively, or hyperventilate. Some people are taken to hospitals in serious situations because they have irregular heartbeat and would feel dizzy or weak. These days, a lot of treatments are coming out to help patients suffering from one or several anxiety disorders. One of the less-known treatment is using by using herbal cannabis. Not many people know about cannabis and its benefits to the health because of the limited publication it is given due to one of the compounds, THC or tetrahydrocannabinol, found in it that tends to give negative psychoactive effects to users. However, a lot of scientists are still challenging themselves to study the other compounds, such as CBD or cannabidiol, to be able to use it as an alternative, natural medicine. With the studies and tests that have been made so far, hemp oil, or cbd oil reacts to the human body in a more positive way than the psychoactive compound which is THC. Unlike THC, CBD does not bring more paranoia because of the absence of the psychoactive component. It helps in reducing fear that is caused by trauma or some phobia. CBD can calm the nerves in a way that it eliminates the worries that come with being afraid, including speaking in front of a lot of people.

CBD can relieve stress naturally and would lift the mood of a person who is feeling depress. CBD works on serotonin receptors and hippocampus. These important parts in the brain deal with reducing anxiety and depression as well as other symptoms related to these.
